Let's get Baking! Two easy kiddie recipes!
It's school holidays and there is no better way than keeping warm and cosy in the kitchen, baking! Here are two of my favourite recipes that my little ones just love! They can get involved with the mixing and making and of course, the munching at the end! A fun way to entertain little ones this long Winter holiday and keep those tummies full!
Ingredients: 185ml flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, 3 teaspoons oil, 1 egg, 125ml milk, 1 tablespoon sugar and a pinch of salt!
Beat the egg, oil and sugar. Sift the flour and baking powder and add to the mixture. Add the milk to make a runny batter. Drop spoonfuls onto a hot pan and wait until the bubbles come up. Turn and cook until golden brown. Enjoy with syrup, cinnamon or add some healthy fruit toppings.
Grease a baking tray (approximately 38 x 28cm), put the oven on to 200 degrees celsius.
Dry Ingredients: 2 cups jungle oats, 1 cup flour, 1 cup brown sugar and 1 cup coconut. Mix these together!
Wet Ingredients: 250g butter, 1 tablespoon syrup. Melt these together. Then add 1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda. Stir! Add these to the dry ingredients and mix well.
Press the mixture into the pan so the mixture is level. Bake for 5 minutes on 200 degrees celsius. Then turn the oven off and leave the tray in for 20 minutes. Take out, then cut into squares. Allow to cool before munching!
Hope you enjoy these treats with your little ones too!
